Tandem pair in free fall high above the clouds

Tandem Jump

A Fall for Two

You only feel true freedom on a tandem skydive. Tandem jumping is the fastest, simplest way to dive into the world of skydiving.

"Let yourself fall."

How It Works

Your Tandem Jump, Step by Step

  1. 01

    Sign-up & Instructor Assignment

Once you've signed up, you'll be assigned your tandem instructor.

  2. 02

    Briefing

You'll go through the climb, exit and free-fall position, canopy flight and landing together; once you're kitted out, you're ready to go.

  3. 03

    Climb

You board the aircraft, which climbs to a jump altitude of roughly 3,000–4,000 metres. The climb takes about 20–25 minutes.

  4. 04

    Final Preparation

Your tandem instructor prepares the exit and gives you the last instructions. The pilot gives the signal once the drop point is reached.

  5. 05

    The Exit

The door opens, and one tandem pair after another jumps out. Now it's your turn.

  6. 06

    Free Fall

For roughly 35–50 seconds of free fall at around 200 km/h, your tandem instructor opens the canopy at about 1,500 metres above the ground.

  7. 07

    Canopy Flight

During the roughly 5–7 minute glide, you ease gently back down toward the earth.

  8. 08

    Landing

Just before touchdown you lift your legs; your tandem instructor brakes the canopy, and you land softly.

  9. 09

    Certificate & Congratulations

To finish, you receive your personal free-fall certificate as a keepsake. Congratulations!
